Zapier Integration
Connect SNG Lead Recovery to Zapier and send abandoned leads to thousands of apps — Google Sheets, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Slack, Gmail, and more — without any code.
Available from version 1.1.0
Integrations are available in SNG Lead Recovery 1.1.0 and newer.
Before You Start
- SNG Lead Recovery 1.1.0 or newer, set up as described in Initial Setup
- A Zapier account on a plan that includes Webhooks by Zapier
Step 1: Create a Zap with a Webhook Trigger
- In Zapier, click Create → Zaps.
- For the trigger, choose Webhooks by Zapier.
- Select the trigger event Catch Hook and continue.
- Copy the webhook URL Zapier shows.
Step 2: Connect SNG Lead Recovery
- In WordPress, go to SNG Lead Recovery → Settings → Recovery Delivery & Integrations.
- Under Who sends recovery messages?, choose External system via webhook.
- Paste the Zapier URL into Webhook URL.
- Keep both Send Events turned on.
- Click Save & Send Test.
Back in Zapier, click Test trigger. Zapier shows the sample lead (Jane Doe) with every field: first_name, email, phone, resume_link, step, progress, event, and more.
Step 3: Filter by Event
The same webhook receives "abandoned" and "completed/recovered" events. Add a Filter by Zapier step so this Zap only continues for abandoned leads:
| Field | Condition | Value |
|---|---|---|
Event |
(Text) Exactly matches | lead.abandoned |
Tip
The sample from Save & Send Test has the event test, so the filter stops it — that's expected. Your real abandoned leads will pass.
Step 4: Add Your Actions
Add one or more actions after the filter. Popular examples:
| App | Action | Map |
|---|---|---|
| Google Sheets | Create Spreadsheet Row | Name, email, phone, step, progress, resume link, abandoned date |
| Mailchimp | Add/Update Subscriber + Add Tag | Email, first/last name; tag abandoned-quote to start a Customer Journey |
| HubSpot | Create or Update Contact | Email, name, phone; resume link into a custom property |
| Slack | Send Channel Message | "New abandoned quote: {name} — {resume_link}" so your team can call them |
| Gmail | Send Email | A personal follow-up to email that includes resume_link |
Turn the Zap on when you're done.
Step 5: Stop Follow-Up When They Finish (recommended)
SNG Lead Recovery sends all events to one URL, so a single Zap receives both "abandoned" and "finished" leads. To handle both, replace the Filter from Step 3 with Paths by Zapier:
| Path | Rule | Action example |
|---|---|---|
| Abandoned | Event exactly matches lead.abandoned |
Start follow-up (actions from Step 4) |
| Finished | Event exactly matches lead.completed or lead.recovered |
Remove the Mailchimp tag, update the Google Sheets row, or move the HubSpot contact to a customer stage |
If Paths isn't included in your Zapier plan, keep the Filter from Step 3 (abandoned only) and turn off Lead completed / recovered under Send Events in WordPress — or use Make or n8n, which support branching with routers and switches.
SMS Consent
The phone field is only filled when the visitor gave marketing consent, and sms_consent is true/false. If your Zap sends text messages, add a filter on Sms Consent is true.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| Test fails in WordPress | The URL must start with https:// and be the exact Catch Hook URL. |
| Zapier doesn't show fields | Click Save & Send Test in WordPress first, then Test trigger in Zapier. |
| Real leads don't arrive | Make sure the Zap is turned on, and the lead has an email or consented phone. Check the lead's timeline for Sent to Webhook. |
| Zap stops at the filter | Real abandoned leads have event = lead.abandoned; the test sample has test. |
